    Toasty Next Few Days

We should break that 90° mark today with abundant sunshine. The heat will certainly be on during the afternoon, but the humidity may wait a day or two before becoming really evident. Morning starts will continue to be on the pleasant side with lows in the mid 60’s. Highs will stay at or near 90° for the next 7 days. A few clouds will be present during the weekend, but we should stay mainly dry. A ridge of high pressure will remain in control keeping things hot and mainly dry as we move into next week. A few showers will be possible Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons as the ridge weakens slightly. - Jay Grymes & Steve Caparotta / WAFB Storm Team

    Turning Warmer Today

The weather turns drier and warmer as we end the work week. High pressure will now dominate the local forecast. The morning starts will continue to be rather nice. Morning lows will be in the mid 60’s. Highs will approach 90° today under mostly sunny skies. The abundant sunshine could result in highs in the low 90°s across the viewing area Friday. Clouds will begin to increase during the weekend as southerly flow of the Gulf of Mexico begins. This will maybe drop afternoon temperatures a couple of degrees. Rain will make a small return by mid week. Iso’d showers and storms will be possible next Tuesday and Wednesday. - Jeff Morrow / WAFB Storm Team

DEQ Declares First Ozone Action Day!

For the first time this year, DEQ has declared an "ozone action day" for our area ("Code Orange" air quality). Those folks with respiratory distress should take extra precautions today. Otherwise, a very weak disturbance, moving through the viewing area, will provide the chance for a few showers/storms later today (40%). After today though, mainly dry weather, along with warmer and more humid conditions, return for the rest of the week ... and likely on through the weekend (highs in the upper 80s, lower 90s)! Warming Back Up This Week

It looks like we're in store for a fairly quiet run of weather through the week. Morning temps will remain pleasant the next few days, generally starting out in the lower 60°s. However, our afternoons will gradually warm up through the week, with highs climbing from the mid 80°s Tuesday into the upper 80°s/near 90° by the end of the week. We can't rule out a spotty shower Tuesday or Wednesday, but most of us should stay dry. In fact, mainly dry weather is expected right on through the weekend. - Jay Grymes & Steve Caparotta / WAFB Storm Team

Finally, Rain on Titan 9 Doppler Radar!

It's been quite awhile since we've had much activity on Titan 9 Doppler radar - much less, during the morning hours! While we're not expecting severe weather, some brief heavy rainfall is possible later today ... setting chances at 60% - 70%, and with the added cloud cover, we may actually stay "a bit" cooler, in the mid 80s! However, relief in the form of rainfall will, once again, be harder to come by as we move through the end of the week into the weekend. Rain coverage will be more of the isolated variety (20%) Thursday into Sunday, with highs returning to the upper 80s. Little change in our very warm May weather is expected into early next week. - Diane Deaton, WAFB Storm Team
